SuriaFM promises more sizzle with new DJ lineup

KUALA LUMPUR: Local Malay radio station SuriaFM promises more fun and excitement with its new DJ lineup.

The new eight-member line-up is set to rock the station while providing more up-to-date news and programmes in line with the people’s interests.

Chief operating officer Engku Emran Engku Zainal Abidin said the new team will bring more energy and a fresh look to the station.

“We hope to attract more listeners with the new arrangement. These young people are more upbeat and energetic.

“They are a fantastic crew,” he said, adding that one of the latest hit programmes is Breakfast@Suria from 6am to 10am.

“We’ve had the show since our inception but the new partnership (of DJ Zhana and DJ Zizi) is more exciting and feedback has shown an increase in listeners,” he added.

The show was a hit because of it's hilarious nature, Engku Emran said.

“We have inserted a lot of comical elements into the slot. Laughter is the best medicine and it is simply the best way to start one’s day,” he said yesterday.

DJ Zhana said: “Now, there is a lot more interaction with the listeners and more exciting activities and prize giveaways.”

“This is a strong partnership. Zhana and I make a great pair as we get along very well. This is one reason for the success of the show,” said DJ Zizi.

On its plans for this year, Engku Emran said he hoped to garner a sizeable market and strengthen the station’s brand, influence and value.

He added that despite the new political developments in the country, indications showed encouraging response from the east coast states, including Kelantan.
